They tend in a direction of democracy.

They tend into the direction of openness and liberalism.

And in general, a kind of metaphysical neutrality.

What does metaphysical neutrality mean?

It means we can have this ideological worldview, we can have this political will, right?

But out there in reality, things are neutral, things are completely impartial, everything is just blind to the dimension of partisanship and ideology.

So that is bourgeois realism, and that is liberal realism.

I think aesthetically the best example of bourgeois realism is always HBO.

Because it's also a cynicism.

And HBO Chernobyl in particular, you contrast Soviet grand ideological pretensions and the dark, grueling reality of the dark colors where everything is grey, just like London and Britain, where everything is real.

Britain is the birthplace of metaphysical liberalism, right?
