Standardizing it and formalizing it, and so on and so on, to the utmost degree.

And there was an alternative modernity that was situated in a different context.

And this is a radical defiance of what Guénon, the traditionalist reactionary, will call the reign of quantity, right?

Where there's only one possibility, there's only one history, one chronology, one civilization.

And it's the reign of quantity.

It's the reign of a specific kind of, again, 17th century Anglo-Saxon metaphysics or whatever, right?

But the 1917 revolution was a kind of metaphysical opening into the lost chronologies of other civilizations that were totally forgotten by modern history, modern history, totally abandoned and left behind by the modern world.

And I say radically different in the sense of

just strange and foreign and other and and yet a a different world, you know, a different universe even, you know, a different meaning of the horizon and end goal of life itself and so on and so on.

So Lenin insists on this radical possibility, and he actualizes it.

In a way that totally defied the regular flow of history according to the logic of Western modernity.

It was a stark abruption in the flow of time itself.

And this created a different civilization and a different dimension of human existence, I would argue.

We're kind of trying to give expression to how the supremacy of the proletarian dictatorship introduced a radically novel dimension of historical thinking, of rethinking the past.

The Soviet Union, it was such a radically different way of thinking about human history and all the things that led up to now that it's like it may as well have descended from a totally lost ancient civilization itself, challenging the very chronology of Western civilization's own sense of history, with the Greeks and Rome and so on and so on.
