There's a lot of reasons why people ignore Dan Cohen's position.

A lot of that has to do with the fact that it's just not convenient.

So the whole point of identity politics and intersectionality was to make an infinite series, quite literally, infinite series of different identities that are placed on an equal plane as the proletariat for the purpose of making it impossible to establish a single proletarian party or at least anti-system party.

Instead, it's endless coalitions between endless different kinds of groups and endless different kinds of organizations.

Never a single revolutionary center or vanguard, right?

So some people have taken up the banner of fascism as a form of protest, punk rock circles, and started in basically the 70s, the 80s, the 90s.

Some people were reacting toward immigration, there are other issues, but it became a kind of subculture far removed from its actual origins.

Now, if we look at the origins of fascism, which is in the 1920s and the 30s, it is impossible to understand the context without understanding how it was a reaction against existing revolutionary communist and socialist movements.

So fascists took and hijacked the aesthetics and they tried to hijack the tone and the rhetoric, which today, among people who see that out of context, confuse that for a revolutionary position.

But during the time in which that existed, they were basically...

Um, they were like faking it.

It was like an opportunism.

It was very disingen, obviously, disingenuous to anyone who was a revolutionary living at that time.

That the only reason these people are engaging in that kind of rhetoric that you today find compelling is because they're trying to hijack and ape the existing socialist and communist movements.

So, if you want to understand the source of the, you know, the real power, you have to look at the communist movements.

You have to look at Bolshevism.

You have to look at the post-war revolutionary upsurges.

Now,

Some people, it's funny, they try to say that about us ACP.

Oh, we're hijacking this and that.

There is no equivalent of any revolutionary socialist or communist movement in any Western country today on earth.

Nothing.

There's nothing.

And I'm saying that because for people that are unironically calling themselves fascists,

They don't even have the context to know what fascism was during its own time.

And for the people that accuse us of being fascists, you cannot be a fascist if there's no communist or revolutionary socialist movement in existence now.

Fascism was something that only came into power because it was supported by the same people who today don't need fascism.

Why don't they need it?

Because there's no communist threat.

If there's no communist threat, all the theatrics of fascism, all of the rhetoric, all of the marches, all of the goose-stepping, all of the things that made it lucrative and attractive to young people in the 80s to now, they don't need that.

All that stuff existed just to compete with communists and socialists.

The militancy, the bravado, all that kind of stuff, it was stolen from the workers' movements.

If you look at the Nazis, for example, the whole Hitler youth phenomena, they stole that from the Social Democrats, actually.

The summer camps and all that kind of stuff, the marching, the militancy, the comparisons to Romans or something, that all that came from the German Social Democrats, the red banners, even.

The reason you don't have fascism today in the same way is because there's no need.

The ruling class has no need for it because there's nothing to hijack.

There's nothing to compete with.

So Bolshevism is the real revolutionary source of the radical break with liberalism that happened in the post-war period.

Yeah, uh it was basically like the antithesis of what communism was.

And they they were sold out at the end stages of the the war.

The Liberals and Anarchists united together and opened the gates for Franco.

It was the Liberals who represented the bourgeoisie, and it was the anarchists who represented these kind of lumpin elements, who betrayed the Spanish Republic.

They they opened the doors to Franco because they perceived that the Communists were Stalinists were taking over.

And people don't know that detail of history.
